ICP’s Album Content: A Guide

There are plenty of people out there who think the Insane Clown Posse sucks, usually because they don’t enjoy the clown gimmick or the sound of their music. But what about the actual messages in the songs? No, not the cartoon violence — after all, they are making “horror rap” — but the more troubling ethos that undergirds their work: bigotry, fear-mongering, and an aversion to education and critical thinking. This guide was created to highlight these problems album-by-album and song-by-song.

The format used throughout the guide is as follows:

“Song Title”: misspelling, fake word, misused word (correction).

  • Content issues.
  • Hypocrisy.

More information on what I consider “content issues” can be found in the Glossary. For brevity, I generally only quote lyrics when they make absolutely no sense. Songs without any major lyrical issues are excluded. If I missed anything or made a mistake, don’t hesitate to comment.
